Official Pre - Red Deros Match
Portu-Goal Scorers

The P-GS respond to yesterday's Reuters article, and announce possible new signing.

Firstly, we must compliment the reporter responsible for the piece of literary genius that was the Reuters pre-match Red Deros guide. He/she almost portrayed the P-GS standing on our up-coming match perfectly, so I will keep this article brief, and urge you to read the excellent Reuters publication.

We do believe in our players ability, and sleep well in the knowlege that they will bounce back from previous losses, to beat the Deros this weekend. We thank Reuters for their coments on the team's skill, and their other kind words. They are undoubtedly accurate, and we know the public sees issues the same way.

However, there are so things that need to be cleared up. Their information in sourcing that the Deros were trying to sign Chin and Michaelides was true, due to many players of the Deros team "Missing to play volleyball." I find it convenient that they would have such a game on the same day, and presume they were scared of us. Now however, after our taunting - they are available to play. Yes, it would have been cowardice, unethical and illegal to bring Michaelides in, however they are not doing this anymore. It would seem the young Cypriot has a better offer. And that offer is with us.

P-GS special official in charge of transfres commented this morning, "The P-GS have long been without a regular keeper, with it suggested Paul would step into goals if needed (as it doesn't matter if he gets hurt from a battering of shots), but now, as the season gets more underway the team realises the need for a true professional - and this pro comes in the form of Michaelides."

The P-GS will play him this weekend on trial, and should he fit in, and enjoy the game - he will stay on and be registered as not only a Scorer, but as the 'Portu-Goal-Keeper.'

Michaelides himself told the team in a meeting today, "I was seriously thinking about joining the Deros, until I realised it would only be temporary, as regular keeper Chang would be back next week. That made me uneasy as job security is important to me, and it was clear they would not register me, which I believe is highly unethical. Even when I expressed these concerns, they changed their mind, asking me to play on the field. They seemed more concerned about getting me so the P-GS could not, rather than for my abilities. Very unprofessional. I am very happy to be trialling with the P-GS this weekend, they are a team who cares. Not only are they brilliant on the pitch, but off as well. I cannot believe I took the Deros offer seriously, when I had the opportunity for the Scorers all along. I will cherish this opportunity, play my best - and be grateful to God forever more. "

It seems all going to plan, Michaelides will be signed before the end of the weekend, the the P-GS will be all the more stronger for it. To see him in his debut game, and all the other boys annihilating the Deros, come along to North Rocks Indoor Centre for a 4:30 kick-off. See you there!
