Portu-Goal Scorers

P-GS vs. "Some Weener Team We Can't Even Remember the Name Of"

Arriving at the centre, the boys knew it was going to be tough. Besides the incredible heat; their inexperience in playing together as a team, and in this style of soccer was heavily playing on their minds. On top of this, they were missing 3 men, not the least of which being club captain and founder, Rowan Kunz. It seemed the odds were stacked against them, and any result would be a surprise.

However, luck changed when "Red Deroes" keeper, Jerry Chang, became available to play - giving the P-GS a boost through Chang's experience, and talent - as well as meaning they would not have to play a man down. However, they remained without substitutions, and would have to rely on their stamina and sheer will power.

Going 2 goals down early, fans would be forgiven for fearing the worst. It seemed that a dream season would be destroyed at the hands of clear amateurs. True class shon through as the game progressed though, with the PG-S firing home 10 unanswered goals before the final whistle, marking their first win of the season.

It was a truly momentous occasion, and the boys - Lam, D'Silva, Jang and Mackay all declined comment due to exhaustion at the end of the game. A PG-S official however gave a statement following their win. "It's always nice to get the first game out of the way - especially with a win. The lads showed a lot of character today, triumphing against the odds, and we expect to go very far. If we can play this well with only 4 regulars, imagine the possibilites when we take on the full squad."

Imagine indeed ladies and gentleman, this is one team to look out for in the future.
