Lam Injured
Portu-Goal Scorers

Tragedy Strikes as Lam Injured only Days Before the Biggest Fixture of the Season

Sometimes life deals us some tough hands. Curve balls that come our way unexpectedly, with no means of avoiding. Things beyond our control that can become detrimental to our whole excistence - like the pop quiz that you haven't prepared for, or unfortunate ugliness.

Life has dealt the P-GS a bad hand, thrown a curve ball our way that we may not be able to cope with.

Channel 9 News (6pm 23/10) "Tragedy struck the P-GS camp tonight on the eve of the eve of possibly this season's biggest fixture - their make or break crunch match versus the Red Deros. This tragedy came with the news that star transfer, Brendan Lam, had been injured by an unnamed assailant, and that he may not play on the weekend."

He will visit the P-GS medical staff on Saturday morning, to face a fitness test that could possibly put him out of the game. Despite his great want to play, it is not worth sacrificing the whole season for one game.

On his injuries, Brendan commentd, "Every step is now painful, and there is even suspected ligament damage. When I try to curl my toes, only 2 will move."

Fans may fear the worst for the Scorers now, but do not lose faith in the remaining 7. "7?" you ask? "But I thought you only had 7 including Brendan?" If you thought that, then you would be forgetting the mid week invitational trial for keeper, Christopher Michaelides. This highlights further the brilliance of club captain, Rowan Kunz, and his eye for the transfer market. It seems even before our time of dire need, he realised the strain that would be put on the team, and moved for a full time keeper. The mark of a truly great captain - unlike that of the Deros (Matthew Fitzpatrick), whose greatest attribute would probably be his....well I can't think of any.

Either way, the boys will play on, and hopefully win - dedicating the match to an ever commited, but unfortunately struck down brother, Brendan Lam.

See the Scorers in action - 4:30pm Saturday.
